How to identify plastic easily?
First of all, because the darker color pigments are generally very toxic, in general, the darker the color, the more toxic the plastic. Another very important reason for dyeing plastic is that the raw material is waste plastic, in order to cover up the original color.
The second is smell. As long as the plastic has a peculiar smell, no food can be loaded anyway. The peculiar smell is generally the smell of additives, colorants and other auxiliary materials or residual monomers added to the product.
The third is to touch. The plastic that holds food generally feels smooth and shiny. If it doesn’t feel smooth, especially if it’s sticky, it must not be filled with food, because there are too many additives in it, and you can’t even imagine it. Accounted for more than 50%.
Packaged foods generally use PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene). These two are relatively safe. The plastic wrap in supermarkets is generally PP, and the hot water pipe at home is also PP, because it is non-toxic. PC (polycarbonate) is generally used for plastic cups that can hold hot water, but this is also used for compact discs, so be careful to return the waste to the oven. PVC is generally used for sewer pipes.
